Dave
Little
Dave Little first got a taste for dj culture as
a kid in the late 80's . House /Acid house , Hip
Hop and Disco were all part of his older sister's
record's at the time , which inevitably , he made
as much his as her's .
Collecting tape's and records
from all aspect's of dance music became pretty
much an obsession of his from there on in , as
would going to dance event's all over the UK to
check out all the dj's/producers/artist's he had
followed for so long .
When asked about musical
influence's , Dave told us ..."I take influence
from all kinds of music , even if a track doesnt
do a lot for me on the whole , I may just like
the drumwork or the percussion ... the keys or
the vocal's , or even just the attitude or message
of a song . There are element's in all kind's of
stuff that give influence to what i do".
As
the case would be with most dj's , house party's
and local bar's in his home town is where he started
playing outside of the bedroom first . But it wasnt
until summer 2000 that he finally got around to
buying his own equipment and took thing's a step
further .
Within a year Dave was offered a monthly
residency @ The Palace in Swansea ,which led to
play's at various other club's/bar's in the city
alongside local talent , and also bigger cat's
spinning in the area back then such as Deli G .
Although Swansea was where Dave was dj'ing at the
time , it was back in Cardiff at Lamerica (where
Dave had been a regular face ...on the dancefloor
that is , since first going there in 1999) he got
talking to Lamerica resident Gareth Hopkins about
what he had been doing in Swansea , which then
led to Craig Bartlett giving him his first set
for Lamerica @ The Emporium in mid 2003 .
Regular
slot's followed at Lamerica (Cardiff) and it's
Tour night's all over South Wales , including a
year long residency in 2004 at a monthly night
held by Lamerica in his home town of Aberdare .
In early 2005 Dave was offered a permanent residency
@ Lamerica , where he has remained resident for
the past 2 years , allowing him to play alongside
, and learne from , some of the finest talent in
house music the globe has to offer .
