Saturday July 2nd 2005 @ Solus, Cardiff Seven years, enough time to be fully educated, to win or lose a war and enough time to cement a name among Great Britains clubbing elite! Lamerica Hoped that with a spectacular DJ lineup of guest's and residents they could celebrate being seven in style. Mission accomplished. Climbing the many stairs to reach Solus knowing that your about to embark on one of the most magical nights in Cardiff's club history is enough to make the mind boggle, Approaching the entrance with the hairs on my neck standing i was ready for what lay instore, or so i thought.... The main room was simply spectacular, glammed up Lamerica style it was screaming class and hard work, I couldn't help but notice the worlds biggest Disco Ball above me and a stage that any DJ in the world would sell his soul to play on, the music was soulful and groovy and the masses of Lamericano's were grooving away, With Guests such as Bobby & Steve, Joey Negro and Sandy Rivera it was clear that everyone who had made the journey would be blown away from start to finish, and the fact that the dancefloor never thinned out at all during the festivities was all the proof needed!
Room two was decked out in the style of huge marque, flowing white drapes from above gave the touch of sex apeal Lamerica like to inject into their decoration, topped off with a great DJ setup this room was stunning, the music policy was Tough and Jackin and complimented the soulful vibe of the main room perfectly, DJ's to grace the decks included DJ Pierre and Terry Farley and they as with all the others looked to be having a great time! Room Three was next, Soul, funk and disco was the order of the day the soundtrack was provided by the likes of Joey Negro, Phil cheesman and the Lamerica residents. Room three was where you found the older Lamericano's, grooving to classic's and new tunes alike. All night the bar had a party atmosphere which never dwindled, well done to all involved. In summary I have to say that this was one of the finest events i have ever had the pleasure to visit, all the stops were pulled out once again by Mr & Mrs Bartlett, and not one person who bought a ticket could complain they didn't get their moneys worth. Well Done to all the guest DJ's and the Lamerica residents for putting on such a great show and a special thank you to Micheal Watford for one of the finest live PA's i have ever seen. Happy seventh birthday
