BIOGRAPHY - JAMIE LEWIS

Cem Berter (aka Jamie Lewis) was born in Switzerland 33 years ago. This multi-talended man always had a big passion and love for music and in 1989 opened a recordshop DEE JAY SERVICE that after 13 years is a meeting point and a"must"for all djs who come to Switzerland.Jamie's dj career started in the mid 80's playing disco in private parties.In the early 90's he decided to turn professional and started playing in various clubs and parties all over Switzerland. JAMIE LEWIS was one of the first who pioneered "US House" music and today he is recognized as one of the top house djs of the country playing regulary worldwide in clubs like Pacha, El Divino(Ibiza), Centro Fly (Ny), Tank(Sidney), The End(London), U60311(Frankfurt), Ambasada Gavioli (Slovenjia), resident @ the famous swiss clubs Kaufleuten, Oxa, Indochine(Zurig), D Club (Lausanne) - he is the only swiss dj who was invited to play for the legendary MADONNA "after concert party" in Barcellona(2001).

Between '92 and '96 Jamie was producing records for the for the italian's UMM Rec and the canadian Definitive rec (John Acquaviva ones). In 1997 he created his own record label PURPLE MUSIC INC and that in a short time produced tracks in collaboration with international artists and singers like Boris Dlugosch, KOT, Sandy Rivera, José Burgos, Phunk Investigation, Mood II Swing, M+S, Bob Sinclar, Knee Deep, Chance, Billie, Michael Watford, Michael Procter, Sabrynaah Pope, Kenny Bobien, Michelle Weeks...

In 1999, he has been voted BEST NEWCOMER/PRODUCER in the UK and some of his productions ("Sunshine Hotel", "People's groove", "For you", "Streetlife" and "The light" appeared in charts like Dj mag (Uk), Billboard (Us), German DDC, M.O.S., and have been released worldwide by record labels like Subliminal/Deep Vision, Warner Germany, Progcity/Peppermint jam, Soulfuric.

JAMIE LEWIS is also remixing tracks since 1992 for prestigious label like Catch 22, Soulshine, Afterhours, Sow (Us), Bustinloose, Hole, Rise, Reshape (Italy), Clubstar, Edel Clubtools, Warner, Brickhouse, (Germany), V2, Yellow (France), Slip'nslide, Catch 22, MN2sugar(Uk) including music Diva's like The Weather Girls, Billy Ray Martin, and popstars like Madonna, Etienne de Crecy or double Exposure.
