Consequently, this pair became known as the boys from
the “Pound” and the Pound Boys name was
born.
From there, the studio beckoned the boys. It was time
to start doing original productions – playing
records of other artists is fantastic, but creating
something new and lending your own personality to
the music is even more rewarding.
The Boys’ first big break came when they were
asked to do remixes of Joi Cardwell’s “You’ve
Got To Pray” (Eightball Records) – this
song reached Number 1 on the U.S. Billboard Dance
Chart. Many original productions as well as remixes
for labels such as MCA, Arista, Jive, Warner Bros.,
Sony, Azuli, King St., & Yellorange to name a
few have followed.
